Our creative toddler has been working on some art projects... glue, glitter, paint, markers etc. His first masterpieces on display here:

Fire House Visit
When Liam sees a fire engine, he immediately imitates the sound of the siren. Here he was very excited to check out the inside of a real engine at the local fire station.

18 months
Liam is 18 months. In three weeks from now he is going to be a big brother!
Stats With all his activity, he has not put on any weight since turning a year.... he is hovering just under the 30lb mark and is 34" tall, keeping him in the 95% growth percentile.
Eating Liam eats everything we eat, and we really haven't found a food that he refuses. It is so refreshing to all sit down to dinner together and eat the same meal when I compare to the days of pureeing his foods, and making special toddler meals for him. While he clearly enjoys eating above all, there do seem to be some favourites - cheese, eggs, & soy sausage. He drinks milk or water - we haven't yet opened up the taps to fruit juice or anything sweetened. Breakfast is the same routine every day - a whole banana (he no longer likes it cut up, but prefers to bite it down himself) & oatmeal. Snacks are fruit, yogurt, apple sauce, and cheese. Lunch and dinner is typically grains & veggies with either eggs or soy meat for protein.
Sleeping He has really been a sleeping champ... we've held a strict sleep schedule and he is clearly thriving. He wakes at 6:30, take 1 nap at midday that lasts 1-3 hours, and lights are out for the night at 18:30. While he can fall asleep in the car seat or stroller, we try to make sure all of his naps are at home in his crib where he sleeps most soundly. He always has his pacifier and froggie with him for sleep, but willingly turns them over as soon as he awakens.
Playing It's hard to narrow this category down to a few activities - Liam is always on the move and curious about everything. Indoors, he spends a lot of time riding his wooden truck, riding his rocking horse, and playing with his stuffed animals (especially the cat, which also gets to ride the aforementioned with him). He still loves his books, and pulls them off his shelf to "read" and turn the pages and enjoy the pictures. We have photographs of family on our fridge, and Liam can identify who's who. He loves music and dancing, and starts to groove as soon as any music is heard (incidentally, he also likes to dismantle our CD collection). Outdoors, most adventures involve the zoo, the barn in the zoo (and climbing into the huge John Deere tractor on display), and a lovely nearby park with swings, slides, and plenty of grass for running around. With the warmer weather, Liam loves splashing around in water, playing with the hose and watering can as I garden, and now also splashing around in his new water activity table (water wheel, boats etc).
We can't wait to see how he reacts to his new sibling... he seems drawn to babies at the park etc, and has a huge fascination with my enormous stomach, so hopefully the excitement continues once we become a family of four.
