Road trip

Liam is on his way to Michigan to visit Grandma and Grandpa and the O'Rear clan.

New toy

Liam got a new mobile today in infant-friendly colors and graphics. It was clearly a hit, as he was mesmerized by the shapes and spent some time laughing and cooing as he watched it.

Visitors

Oma and Opa drove down from Milwaukee for the afternoon to visit with Liam before they leave for Florida.

Having another set (or two) of hands in the house allowed for a rare picture of mom and dad with Liam.

Liam's busy schedule

Today:
6h30 wake up, eat, fresh diaper, morning nap, eat, fresh diaper, bath, baby massage, mid-day nap, eat, fresh diaper, story time ("Guess how much I love you" thanks to the Parkers), afternoon nap, eat, fresh diaper, bedtime.


Tomorrow: will look very similar!

Six weeks old...

... and already recycling. What a green baby. The striped jumper was one worn by all three of his cousins - Sophie, Melanie, and Henry

Smile

Liam has been enchanting us with his expressions, best of which is of course his smile.

Mom was a bit slow getting the camera ready, and his smile turned into a frown...

Winter walk

We've had a snowy winter in Chicago... at last yesterday was sunny and clear so we took Liam for a stroll in his pram.
Despite it being 20 degrees out, he was stayed warm in a bunting knit by Oma, and a hat knit by Auntie Meghan.

Growing boy

Had a check-up with the pediatrician today... Liam weighed in at a hearty 11lb 7oz which is quite a gain since his birth weight and puts him into the 95th percentile for weight. He also measured 23inches long, again in the 95th percentile for height. He definitely feels heavier to carry, and has very full cheeks. Furthermore, we have retired the newborn outfits and are fully into the 3-6mo size already!

Firsts

Today Liam had his fingernails clipped for the first time. Hopefully no more accidental face scratches.

Road trip to Oma and Opa

Liam spent a few days in snowy Wisconsin visiting Oma and Opa. Activities centered around feeding...


... and sleeping.

Sponge bath

This may be Liam's last sponge bath... belly button is all healed from the cord so he's ready for the real thing. Hopefully he will enjoy the tub as much as he has enjoyed these...

... Liam post bath is VERY relaxed!

Liam is 4 weeks already!

We can't resist filming him sleeping... typically peacefully, but this one charmed us.

Happy New Year!

We had a relaxing weekend at home. Dad got some 1:1 time feeding Liam...

... and Liam got to play with his new playmat (well, stare at the toys really, but we're sure this will evolve into play as he gets older).
